The Town of Normal announced plans for an online public meeting for the community to provide feedback on the future of Uptown South, the area south of the railroad tracks near City Hall.

“The public meeting is another way we are encouraging the community to participate so we better understand what people want to see in this area. Earlier this month, the Town asked residents to complete an online survey to provide their vision the future of this area in the heart of our community,” says Town of Normal Planner Mercy Davison

Time: 6:30 p.m. Central Time

Date: Thursday, Jul 28, 2022

Place: Join via Zoom Meeting

The meeting will focus on the land-use and design elements of the future Uptown South. The design team is seeking more detailed input from residents about their preferences for the area following a recent public survey.

The online meeting will be recorded and available for replay for those who are not able to attend the Zoom meeting session. A link to the recording will be added to the Uptown South Master Plan project page on the Town of Normal’s website. This page includes a summary of the project, milestones and additional information about the public process.

Uptown South, about eight acres of land in the heart of Normal, is defined as the area bounded by South Linden Street to the east, East Irving Street to the south, the Constitution Trail to the west, and the train tracks to the north.
