2024 Auditions

Auditions are 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29 or 6-9 p.m. Friday, March 1 at the Community Activity Center, 1110 Douglas St, Normal. (Auditioners only need to attend ONE session.)

Callbacks are 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at the Community Activity Center, 1110 Douglas St, Normal.

Pre-audition Workshops (optional): 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25.

About The SpongeBob Musical

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! 

The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.

At the Door

Tickets may also be purchased the night of with cash or a credit card at the concessions stand. To avoid waiting in the concessions line, buy in advance or pay with cash at the gate. 

Season Pass

The $40 season pass gets unlimited admission for one named individual. Season pass holders can simply give their name at the gate to be admitted—no printed pass is required.

More About The Program

A Proud Community Legacy

Normal's High School Summer Theatre program began in 1972. Since its inception, thousands of local students have taken part in summer productions as cast members, crew, musicians and more. The program is open to incoming freshmen through graduating seniors at any area high school. There is no fee to participate. Performances are held each summer at Connie Link Amphitheatre.
