Town Forestry

The Parks and Recreation Department provides for the care and maintenance of all trees located on Town-owned property. Trees rooted in the public right-of-way are the property of the Town of Normal. Each year the department’s forestry division plants hundreds of new trees along public streets, throughout parks and along Constitution Trail. Forestry staff routinely prunes Town-owned trees for required vehicular clearances at intersections and stop signs. Pruning necessities also include pedestrian clearances over sidewalks and corrective needs to aid in the health and appearance of each tree. Forestry staff also removes dead, dying or diseased trees for health, safety and aesthetic purposes. Submit a work request on a Town-owned tree or to report a dead tree and/or limb hazard.
