The Maxwell Disc Golf Course was originally constructed in 2004. It was an 18-hole disc golf course popular among recreational frisbee golf players, and is utilized by the Bloomington-Normal Disc Golf Club for various leagues and open tournaments.
The course has recently been re-designed, with a new 18-hole competitive and 7-hole novice course. Each competitive hole will include two baskets, and use of a new course area west of the creek. Installation of the newly designed course began in fall 2020 with all 7 novice holes, and holes 1-7 and 15-18 of the competitive course completed. Holes 8-14 will be installed by the end of summer 2021.
