Municipal Elections

Town of Normal Municipal Elections are accordance with the rules and regulations of the State of Illinois, State Board of Elections. The Town of Normal elects a President of the Board of Trustees and six (6) Trustees.

Municipal Elections fall in the spring of the year, on odd numbered years. Both the President and Trustees are elected for four (4) year terms. The terms of office for the six (6) Trustees are staggered, with three (3) Trustees being elected every two years.

The inauguration of the newly elected President and Board of Trustees will take place at the first regular meeting of the corporate authorities in the month of May following such elections.

APRIL 4, 2023 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION INFORMATION 

Town of Normal Council:  Three (3) Town Trustees (Councilmembers)

The positions of three Trustees will be elected to the Normal Town Council at the April 4, 2023 consolidated election. Trustees will be elected for a four-year term to expire in 2027. Interested candidates may pick up informational packets, along with the necessary forms, from the Office of the Clerk, Second Floor of Uptown Station, 11 Uptown Circle, Normal, Illinois, beginning August 30, 2022.

The deadline for filing the petitions for the Three Trustees is November 21, 2022 through November 28, 2022. A primary election will be held on February 28, 2023, if necessary.

Town of Normal Library Board:  Three (3) Library Trustees

Three (3) six-year term positions on the Town of Normal Library Board will be elected on April 4, 2023. The candidates may pick up informational packets, along with the necessary forms,  from the Office of the Clerk, Second Floor of Uptown Station, 11 Uptown Circle, Normal, Illinois, beginning September 20, 2022.

The deadline for filing the petitions for the Three Trustees is December 12, 2022 through December 19, 2022.
